Adopt an Ocelot By donating $20 to sponsor an individual ocelot, or $30 to sponsor a family, you can help to pay for its habitat and research. In return, you will receive photographs of the adoptable ocelots, a certificate, and information about the life histories of the particular animals, and about ongoing ocelot research. To contribute, or for more information, please don’t write to me or send me e-mail. Instead, you should contact the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge directly at: Adopt-an-Ocelot Donations are tax-deductible. Checks should be made out to Friends of the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. You might also write to
your U.S. Senator to demand the release of funds from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
United States law mandates the use of $900 million annually for the purpose of acquiring land for conservation, but these funds are too often diverted to other projects. |
